Training
On this page you will find the training schedule for our club members. Times vary from season to season and are weather dependent at all times. Summer training is a lot of fun because we are on the water almost everyday. However, winter training is fun too and when you aren't on the water you can learn how to lift weights, get fitter, and improve your strength while meeting new people and making friends! If you do not wish to compete in regattas, don't be scared to join the team as you can always join for the banter, for improving your fitness, or for joining the club as a committee member or as a cox!
What is it all about?
Winter training is designed to increase fitness in order to be race fit for the start of the season. These sessions are team orientated and tend to be indoors. During the week, we practice our rowing technique on the ergo and develop our fitness through circuit training and our strength through weight sessions. On Sundays, and depending on the weather, we have at least one water session that help us to transfer what we learned on the ergo to the boats.

Summer training is mainly outdoor and on the water. The sessions help us to improve our rowing technique in crews or as an individual. Most water sessions are designed to provide us with sufficient experience and technique to participate in local and/or national competitions. However, summer training can also be suitable for those who do not want to compete.
